Verona, une jeune visiteuse allemande du blog me propose de lancer un débat sur les garçons portant des bottes de cheval en caoutchouc. La question la trouble, elle et ses copines, et la laisse sans réponse. Tout comme elle nous aimerions tous savoir ce que pensent les filles des garçons portant des bottes de cheval en caoutchouc dans la rue.
C'est un stage cet été dans un cirque qui a déclenché cette question, elle y a vu un garçon en bdc utilisé comme cible vivante. C'est habituellement le rôle d'une assistante courageuse.
Par ailleurs, pour avoir été très souvent en Allemagne, le fait de porter des bdc ne m'a jamais causé aucun souci auprès de mes copines allemandes, au contraire même. Le débat est lancé. Verona, a young german girl visiting my blog proposes me opening a debate about boys wearing rubber riding boots. A question staying unanswered to her and her friends. She's right, just like her, we would all like to know what girls think of boys wearing rubber riding boots in the street. This is an internship this summer in a circus that triggered this question, she saw a boy in tall rubber riding boots used as living target. This is usually the role of a brave assistant girl. Moreover, to have been very often in Germany, wearing rrb has never caused me any worry with my german girlfriends, even the very opposite! Debate gets launched. Below Verona in her own words, excerpts from her emails she permitted me to copy/paste, it will be better than paraphrasing.
- "I’m Verona and I live in Frankfurt. I and some friends of mine were looking around the net. We also came across your nice blog for rubber riding boots. Here is something interesting maybe for you. We all take part in a circus project during the summer. We girls couldn’t believe or eyes that a guy is performing the female part of the knife-throwing act as a living target in very high women’s rubber riding boots! He is used for several stunts with the whip, completely tied up with lassos and also literally nailed to a board with knives. The so called living target really isn't able to move anymore : o [...] We cannot make up or minds what we should think of a guy wearing high rubber boots even when he is used for the female part in a circus act. Anyway, maybe in interesting question for your blog. We would love to hear what other girls think of this ; ) The days at the circus were cool and funny and we were laughing a lot. Yes we were very suprised to see a boy performing in ladies rubber riding boots and it was very strange and funny to watch the act."

"Sass thinks that a boy wearing rubber riding boots is awkward. I can't make up my mind. Sure it was awkward, but maybe it was part of the act. We were looking around the web and most of the assistants (all girls called: Target-Girl or Targette) in a knife throwing act are wearing high boots. Maybe that boy was performing in high rubber riding boots to underline his position in the act as a "Targette". I didn´t talk to them, but that wold be cool : )
Anyway it was a dangerous stunt. A male Targette in rubber riding boots. Ok, why not. ; )

The guy from the circus project has send us some pictures. I told him I would like to post it to you. He said that he likes your fashion-blog but that we should not show the face of the knife-throwing assistant [...] I really like your blog too, but all of the girls are from other countries. Anyway I can't make up my mind what to think of boys in rubber riding boots. It looks strange and funny to me.
